I drew this ghost a while back now, but I wanted to give him a little love, especially during this time of the year.

This happy ghost is now being sold as buttons and small prints, so I'm not the only one enjoying the little fellow!

Watercolor

Sometimes when I feel stuck in a rut with my illustration and drawings habits, I like to bust out materials I don't typically use. 

Watercolor is perfect for getting outside the comfort zone because it tends to have a mind of its own at times. There are many happy accidents that can happen and inspires some fun things.

Especially with my little pumpkin friend overseeing my work!

It's that time of year when I start making miniature crochet candy corns like crazy! I cannot resist their cuteness with this tiny handmade trick or treat bag!

New Piece!

I've included this sweet little Valentine in my portfolio for a while now and it is still to this day one of my favorites. So for the last SCBWI conference here in San Francsico, I wanted to make a partner piece.

Flashcard Monster

Animation!

Way back when, in my undergraduate days, I used to be an animation major!

Eeyore

Being obsessed with children's books and all things cute, I wanted to draw a character from a classic children's tale: Eeyore!

It looks like the little guy has his tail today too!

Crochet Pokeball!

I'm combining my Fan Art-Ria Art here in this post. 

It took me a few tries, but I finally managed to come up with a pokeball crochet pattern. I was so pleased that I wanted to draw the adorable Pikachu. Pika is sharing in my delight and my two mediums are combined in this super fun fan art post!

I'm looking forward to having pokeball keychains at the next convention I participate in in October, APE, but I'm also thinking that this could make a great stocking stuffer during the holidays~

Oodles of time to create all day!

Travel Time

I'm coming close to the final deadline for the children's book I'm illustrating for Nothing But the Truth Publishing. So I requested time off from the day job so I could work around the clock on these drawings!

I decided to take a road trip to my most favorite location, Sunriver, Oregon. Here in the woods, there are no distractions from my beloved San Francsico and I am free to create all day.

Such a wonderful feeling, and I feel so very blessed to have time like this to create lovely art in such a peaceful place.

Papa

Just a reminder that it's Father's Day this year on the summer solstice. So go ahead and celebrate your papa like little Jinky here, or just take a moment to appreciate all the awesome dads in the world.

Jinky couldn't wait for Sunday apparently, so he got started a little early~

Re-Touch

After the art-licensing class I finished, I'm really considering looking into manufactures that hire illustrators to make their products beautiful!

With that being said, I'm revisiting some. pieces that are more commercial. I even included a section for them on my website.

My first plan of action after re-touching some pieces is to shop! I'll go to some of my favorite shopping spots and see what item I like. Usually the products say who the manufacturers are, and that  will give me a lead for where I should start submitting.

I'll be sure to write about my next steps in this process, but in the meantime, here is a sweet little raccoon playing his piccolo, which would be so adorable in a baby's nursery~

Greeting Cards

It has been a long time coming, and now I'm finally getting around to creating a post for my Ria Art greeting cards in my Etsy store!

I recently just edited my critter book & ordered a copy from Lulu. I  think it trend out quite lovely-Mr.  Orange and Arty Heart certainly agree.

Custom Etsy Order

My 'create your own Amigurumi set of six' is by far my most popular seller on Etsy, which I so much fun for me because as I have said before, I really love seeing which critters people choose for themselves.

This particular buyer just wanted them to be little toys instead of magnets. She ordered a blue and yellow bird, a frog, a pig, an octopus and a turtle.

Bird Keychains

I have been making these bird keychains for a while now & they have been doing quite well when I have sold them at conventions or shows. So I think it is now time to add them to my Etsy shop! 

The crow is my favorite since the little guy makes me think of Game of Thrones-which I have been enjoying lately, both the books and the show:-)

However, this birdie also comes in a variety of colors, Robin's Red, Baby Blue Jay, and Canary Yellow.
