New Illustration

My newest illustration to be officially added to my portfolio! Yay:-D

I did this illustration as an exercise for the last SCBWI conference I attended. A few of us had the opportunity to illustrate a scene from a selected manuscript and then have it critiqued in front of the conference by Patrick Collins with Publishing house- Harper Collins.

I was on the fence about keeping this illustration, but after it was well received, I decided to keep it!

Bookmark Origami

I stumbled across this origami book at the home of the children I nanny for with all of these more non-traditional patterns. They were so beautiful, that it felt inspired to search around for some other patterns.

I discovered a kimono pattern & decided to make it into a girl in the kimono-on a bookmark too! Viola! Functional beauty!

It was fun to do a little calligraphy too. It reminded me of my undergraduate days in Japanese class:)

My Little Pony

Recently, I have been digging into my last for a little inspiration. I'm surprised to find that My Little Pony is even more popular today than when I was a child!

So I thought I would give crocheting a pony a try. This is the sweet Shutterfly, a Pegasus pony. She is one of the ponies from the new series:-)

I'm pretty pleased with her stylization, but my favorite part is her sweet little blushing cheeks!

Spirited Away

Throwback to some old Spirited Away drawings I drew on one of my super old notebooks from high school! I love seeing what inspired me back in the day & what continues to inspire me now.

For as long as I can remember creating has been the most important part of my life. It is a passion that has continued to grow everyday and I could not imagine doing anything different! <3

Princess continuation<3

Continuing on with my Princess doodles-so here's a sweet little Snow White for everyone!

For this doodle, I used a watercolor paper instead of my gessoed illustration board & then went back in with my prismas-I love the colors!

More to come soon! :)

Felty Groupies

Felty Magnet Critters! What a sweet little grouping of animals to brighten everyone's day-more to come!

I have just recently received the confirmation that Ria Art World will have a table at APE in October here in SF! So I have been sketching up some new felty critter ideas!

Here are a few finished guys so far, along with a few oldies but goodies:)

Jake and Finn

Bam! Just had to draw Jake & Finn. Little Adventure Time Tuesday please!:)

Also, I am becoming more and more satisfied with how my digital painting is turning out these days. Yay! I think it has been helpful to practice painting some characters that I already have established associations with too.
